Dagenham bodyshop AJC Wilson scoops a prestigious award from the Motor industry

AJC Wilson based in south Dagenham a BSI Kitemark certified bodyshop has scooped the ‘Bodyshop of the Year Award’ at the Motor Trader Industry Awards held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane on 8 July.

Motor Trader Industry Awards, now in their 19th year, acknowledge and reward the best performers in the motor industry, those companies and individuals who excelled in the toughest trading environment in living memory.

Not to all bodyshops are the same. Repairing modern, technologically advanced motor vehicles has never been more challenging with more complex vehicle design technicians have to be more skilful and competent now. An important feature to look for in a bodyshop is BSI Kitemark approval.

To earn the BSI Kitemark, vehicle body repair shops must prove that they conform to tough new standards set down in PAS 125. These include strict requirements that focus on skills, repair methods, equipment and materials. In addition, workshops must demonstrate that they have repair process management controls in place to monitor activities. All these elements are then assessed by independent BSI inspectors and must meet stringent benchmarks to be awarded the valuable benchmark by BSI.

AJC Wilson was established over 10 years ago and was the first body repairer in the UK to be awarded the BSI Kitemark for Vehicle Body Repairs.
